An upholstered footboard gets more fabric into a room, and is much more novel than upholstering a headboard.  Framing for the footboard of the Louis XVI-style bed in the master bedroom came from the manufacturer, but designer Patricia McLean of Patricia McLean Interiors, often adds webbing and upholstery to a bed frame.  Half-inch decorative tape contributes a couture touch.  Upholstering is a job for a pro.

Problem-solving drapery treatment.  Patricia McLean designed tailored draperies for the master bedroom's narrow windows.  Short front panels trimmed with bullion fringe add volume and break up the windows' narrowness.  Tassel trim at sides, bottom and top introduces more volume.  Silk undercurtains contribute fluidity and blend with the woodwork.
